It's pretty well known the F-16 is by far the most nimble fighter ever created, the thing is in most cases the F-35 would have the f-16 destroyed before the f-16 even had any radar signature of the f-35. Dog fighting is a thing of the past with stealth. Missles are fired miles out.

Kind of a shame what's going on with our military jets. The f-22 was all but canceled aside from a few jets due to cost. The f-35 was built to cover 3 jets making the cost cheaper but it is a jack of all trades, master of none and has ended up also going far over budget. Technology changes so fast that unless the planes are built incredibly quickly and money used for future upgrades, they end up stretching development to keep putting the latest and greatest in before the plane is even ready.

Meanwhile the only planes we have left flying are falling apart. They continuously get upgraded for technology but the airframe can't keep up with advancements and they definitely can not keep up to many years of extreme g forces.
