  • Gym monthly dues

So in recent years I've noticed how it's changed dramatically. From places that cost $10 a month to near $150 for just a membership. I joined life time fitness; $144 a month. Now before anyone starts, I like the fact that it's a spa type club with high tech equipment, but also with a very nice free weights zone. Not to mention all of the other stuff they have, it's fucking nice!

I was paying $30 for LA fitness, which IMO is a dump of a place. I still pay $200 for my xfit and now I've got everything I want. I've been at all the gyms, hole in the walls, fancy shit, average gyms, etc....at the end of the day, life time is where it's at if the budget fits you.

Paying these types of dues also eliminates the jitter bugs or fucking idiots, that act like idiots. The clientele is a bit more polished as well, I like that. It's pricey no doubt, but when I go to there; i feel like I'm at the spa and then some. I don't need a hardcore gym anymore, been there done that. I've got plenty of what I need and want. Will post pics of this amazing facility, no doubt one of a kind.

Anyone a member with life time?

Typically, Life Time centers are the size of a Home Depot. But they are outfitted more like a Four Seasons Hotel, with granite countertops, cherry wood lockers, a full-service spa, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

Nope. $200/yr for a hole in the wall with just enough equipment to do what I need. It's the difference of driving 8 minutes vs 30 minutes at 530am before work.

I've never seen a dump LA Fitness, but either way all of the ones in my area all are brand spanking new. I pay $30 a month.

Cool bro. I've been a member of those types and just got tired of it I guess. Maybe it's me getting older and just not needing to act like a gorilla in the gym lol. I still lift heavy at times and this pace has db's up at 150 :)

Well maybe a dump was a bit harsh and I've seen the ones in fl as well, they're ok I guess.

Mine = free. My dad's ex boss has a nice 8 car garage sized setup with over 1000lbs of plates, db's up to 100 (i dont need more than that) flat bench, incline bench, decline, adjustables, squat rack, 20+ nautilus machines, cable pulldowns, blah blah blau...all i need for my gym rat status.lol. heated, carpeted, home stereo. Got my own key go 24/7 so i'm blessed with a nice private gym that only 10 other ppl use...but a new bigger gym just went up in my small town, $21 a month. Might just join for a change of pace, plus went there once and is a nice old school type environment with tons more shit

I didn't realize 24 hour fitness was no contract. I've got one about 5 min away I might have to look into if that's the case.

We get the deal through work, where there is no contract and the initiation fee is waived. Not sure if you can get the same deal directly, but it doesn't hurt to stop by and ask.
