This is disgraceful. Something serious needs to be done about the way police officers are being trained and recruited.

Yup. This is big news around here because this is only about a 10-15 min drive away for me. We were watching the live conference yesterday on local news and the wife had to come home early because they were worried riots might occur from the protestors if he wasn't indicted.

That cop was a university cop newbie and they are already saying they are trying to dismantle the university police for the much better trained Cincinnati police. They already lost the ability to police off campus due to this incident. Good damn thing they had body cameras. Hopefully it will help push making body cameras mandatory.

Prosecutor charged him with murder and backup charges of 2 forms of manslaughter in case the judge wouldn't have the murder charge. He is facing life in prison according to the prosecutor.

Cop was way wrong from what I saw on the video PERIOD!!

I dont understand why the guy went to start his car and not follow simple instructions though.( because he had a suspended license?) It in no way justifies the cop doing what he did. Yet..if he would of followed those simple instructions Im willing to bet this never would of happened.He would probably be going to court to pay a ticket instead of being shot by a dumb ass cop that over reacted.
Just sad sad situation all the way around IMHO.

I said the same thing. Nothing justified the shooting but the guy would also still be alive if he would have just complied with the officers commands. I was raised to just do what the cops say and respect authority. Filing complaints or lawsuits after the fact is your recourse as a citizen Disobeying direct orders will never end good.
