This thing is getting a little to close for comfort! :noo:

Rocky Fire in California Swells to 54,000 Acres - NBC News

A massive wildfire west of Sacramento, California, spanned 54,000 acres Sunday, up from 27,000 acres the previous evening.

The Rocky Fire, in Lake, Colusa and Yolo counties, was just 5 percent contained late Sunday afternoon, CalFire spokesman Daniel Berlant said. No injuries were reported, though more than 12,000 people had been ordered to evacuate and several highways were closed, Berlant said earlier Sunday.

Dozens of buildings — including two-dozen homes — had been destroyed, and 6,000 more buildings remained threatened by the fire, which was sparked in the drought-stricken state on Wednesday and exploded in size amid dry, windy conditions on Saturday, Berlant said.

This "is a very dangerous fire," he said.

This is what is burning so fast. The grass is so damn dry it burns like crazy. Took these the other day. The park I take my dog. Won't be surprised to here this place goes up in flames as well.

I'm going to Costanoa koa for a few days in a couple weeks. Better not burn while I'm there.

Whats rain like, I can't remember. I haven't seen rain since Chicago. I left Chicago in the beginning of June. Hasn't rained a single time since I've been here. Nuts. I don't know how the trees stay green.

This is usually the rainy time of the year, but this has been well beyond ordinary. It has basically been raining every day for two and a half weeks.

Just to there. My dad lives in Livermore. A mini family reunion of sorts. My brothers and I (and families) are flying into SFO and heading straight down there.

blm, just got back from Indian Rock Beach. We had an awesome time and we were lucky that we dodged most of the thunderstorms. One day we drove an hour south to miss an all day storm but most the other days it rained all night long and was nice during the day.
