Sheri and I went down to Amelia Island Florida Yesterday, we hung out in the old town of Fernandina Beach Florida, Its the northern most city on the east coast in the state. Absolute great place!!:thumb: I'd ridden tru on the bike before but never really spent any time.
Beach was awesome!! nice white sandy/shell beach clean water and good waves. Dog friendly family oriented place. they had a skate board park right on the beach, mini golf, bike rentals..just everything right there.
Just a few min drive into town took you back in time to the 1800's some of the old buildings were amazing and all the old store fronts were a step back in time. Sheri said it reminded her of the old Hippy towns up in the catskill mountians in upstate N.Y.
Found a great Bistro to eat in that they made every thing from scratch right there.. had a 4 bean chili with lousinia hot corn bread, and a turky n ham cuban sandwich that was off the charts. then a slice of home made guava/ coconut cake that was like out of this world!! I wanted to buy a whole cake and bring it home and just eat the whole damn thing!!:grin:
Good thing is this place is only 1.5 hrs from home. easy day trip.:thumb: This will be the new beach hangout for us..
if your ever in northen Florida this little town is a must see..go check it out!
