I've been getting taxed on Amazon for a year or so. Free shipping and they will bring it in and put it on your stand, etc. $801 seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Amazon was out of the 60inch, had to use Bestbuy. Delivery is scheduled for Tuesday. I'm excited. Moving up from my 42" plasma.

    Amazon.com: VIZIO E50-C1 50-Inch 1080p Smart LED HDTV: Televisions & Video

Or turbo if you decide to go 4k you can do so for only $200 more and be future proofed for years to come.

I would personally probably go with the 1080p. 4k is in it's infancy and 4k tv's that come out over the next few years will have superior refresh rates etc.. making current 4k sets seem a bit dated. With 1080p your getting a set at the top of it's game, all the kinks ironed out, a perfected technology if you will. Buying a 4k set in 5 years will be a no brainier, right now though 1080p has all the content, is cheaper, and is tried, tested, and true.

I'm going with the 60" version of the first link. Thanks for the recommendation.

I tried to talk myself into 4K, just no reason at the moment. I will just buy a 4K tv in 2-3 years and sell of give away the Vizio.

This question depends on the source material.

if you have a 1080p tv and a 4k tv both displaying Fox HD which broadcasts in 720p then turbo would be correct, you would not be able to see any difference. it wouldn't matter if the tv was 12k resolution. if the source material is 720p that's all it can be, a high res tv cannot add information to the 720p single that isn't there.

if however the 4k tv is displaying actual 4k content then yes, the difference is very clear.

I would tend to side with turbo on this whole thing though. literally nothing you are getting from your cable or sat provider is 4k and it will be that way for the next few years at least. 4k content aside from a demo of some pretty scenery is few and far between.
