I just don't see how anyone could take a 2mp image blown up to a 55" size and an 8mp image at 55" and say they don't see a difference. 2mp isn't even suitable for 4x6 print.

your comparison is completely inaccurate.

your saying 2mp vs 8mp. THAT IS THE SOURCE MATERIAL. NOT THE DISPLAY.

what we are talking about is more like 2mp on a 2mp capable screen VS 2mp on a 8mp capable screen. the 8mp screen will not display the 2mp content any clearer. 2mp is all the information the 8mp screen has to work with. it cannot add magic resolution to it!
