So it wasn't an easy path and there were more than 2 women that tried. From the article:
"Griest and Haver were two of 20 women to qualify for the training school. One opted not to attend before training began.

The remaining 19 were were whittled down to eight following an initial four-day assessment which included chin-ups, push-ups and a 12-mile road march through hilly Fort Benning while carrying a full combat load.

All eight women failed the first Darby Phase twice. Griest, Haver and a third female solder were allowed to try Ranger School again."

This may sound shitty but I kinda had an image in my head of someone pretty rough looking but to my surprise she isn't half bad at all!
