    It is hard to explain.

Pharmaceuticals are generally on a copay rate, not a percentage. Insurance companies have networks of doctors, hospitals, etc. So when they are in an agreement together, the insurance companies will only pay x amount (think $2k on a $10k bill), and the hospital/doctor has to accept it. The problem is, when you DON'T have any insurance, you will be billed the $10k and too bad if you don't have it. Same with prescriptions. They aren't making $750 a pill on people with excellent insurance.

Ok but this price increase will still cost those with insurance because the total bill for this drug will increase. Am I wrong?

But surely those fees are now much higher at $750 then they were at $13.50???

I get it, the insurance company isn't paying $750 a pill but I bet they are paying a shit ton more then when it was $13.50. Am I wrong?

I don't think you are wrong. If the establishment pays more, insurance pays more, you pay more.

So why is it that turbo seems unable to recognize or admit that this guys move could in fact prevent people from getting the drugs they need? It seems to me that there must have been at least a few people that were paying out of pocket for the drug at $13.50 per pill. It also seems to me that for people with insurance that could afford the cost easily before may now not be able to pay the bill simply because of the enormous price hike that the insurance companies will simply pass along. I guess I don't get turbos unwillingness to see or understand this. Forget the people who may suffer from this, its the media that's the evil focus point here... Fucken guy. I love ya turbo but make no mistake you deserve a kick in the gullet every now and then.

The person with excellent insurance will still pay the same amount for their monthly supply.

You simply can't admit that this will cost people money one way or another is laughable and shows much about your character. Stop being a know it all with all the fucken answers because your answers are ridiculous.
                        You are being strange.

Taxes go up and insurance premiums increase. Hospitals and clinics will use current stock that was purchased cheap, but insurance will reimburse for the new price if covered, otherwise, the hospital/clinic will use a cheaper drug such as bactrim DS as treatment.

Yes, for the 1% of patients that pay cash for (HIV) drugs the price will increase. You are just acting like it is 1. uncommon for dumb shit to be overpriced (or price gouging) in the medical world and 2. that most patients pay cash.

Character? You make zero sense. Seem to be melting down lately, is that test getting to ya?

How does this not cost people with insurance? If the total cost goes up because its so much higher. Using FB's example if the bill is 10k you pay 2k with insurance. But if that bill goes up to 50k for the same treatment then you would have to pay 10k. So going from 2k to 10k is not costing anyone anything to you?

Call the number on the back of your insurance card and they can explain.

People will absolutely be effected by this. Insured or uninsured increased cost on that level will make an impact.
