  • fun fun....

So, it seems I have a problem at the house. I was just informed the dog was sniffing around and found a fresh snake skin going under the crawl space of the house. looks like about a 5 ft Timber rattler. Guess Ill be loading up the short barrel 12 guage and going for a crawl tonight when I get home...

    This should be interesting:panic:

Have fun with that! lol We have a decent amount of snakes in our woods but never seen a poisonous one. We have copperheads but they are not very common. Mostly black snakes. Be careful man, you definitely do not want to get bit by a rattlesnake.

I'm not afraid of snakes in general but rattlesnakes make me very uncomfortable.

In the Army we had to clear out an old warehouse in Arizona that we used as a makeshift headquarters for a 2 month training exercise. The building has been vacant for a decade and was infested with black widows inside and rattlesnakes around and under the building. We were armed with fumigation bombs, brooms, and a machete. After all was said and done we killed over 50 rattlesnakes. And then we set up cots and sleeping bags and camped inside. [emoji216] [emoji22]

            Fuck that.

Thankfully I haven't seen any snakes out here in Cali. Tons of lizards but no snakes, not even at the park which is straight up wilderness type place.

Well, got home got some old BDU's on, loaded up the 12 and went to crawling..spent an hour under the house with a head lamp and a flash light trying to check every nook and cranny I could see and find. nada... the fucked up part was not being able to see up on the support beams of the floor untill I crawled past it and then looked up... kept thinking that basterd would be like...ha..got ya bitch!! did take out quite a few black widow webs...

Couldnt see anyplace snakes had been crawling in the sand under there..so Im thinking he was just passing thru... Good thing is now shes not freeking out the house is "infested with snakes":panic::panic::panic:

After I got out I went around entire house and packed filldirt into every little crevice between the ground and the wood paneling going from the house to the ground in order to seal it..if you will. Now at least I can monitor the dirt and if its disturbed Ill know something is trying to work ..or has worked its way under in the future..:thumb:

Lip, my wife hates snakes with a passion. She recently purchased this and uses it around our house. She says it works. I do so much outside work and hardly never see them. She looks out the window and can spot one a mile away. lol

I think shes over blowing it..If I see it Ill kill it if its a dangerous one near the house. if its harmless Id let it go.

I've only seen water moccasins around me but there are black widows and brown recluse. Every year I have to spray my walk-in cooler to kill them before deer season.

I'd be more scared of the damn killer spiders. At least the rattle snake will make its presence known. Damn spider will hide in your underwear. I haven't seen many spiders out here. Hope we don't have them.
