Yea I don't doubt it bro. But it's pretty easy to list problems without solutions. We certainly can't trust the companies themselves to regulate themselves either.

We should always see ow we can make these agencies better but that being said, the EPA and the FDA are the two most important federal agencies. It has been shown time and time again that corporations can't be trusted to do the right thing when the environment and food/drug safety is concerned.

The FDA??? lol. They are completely in the pockets of big business. The FDA is one of the worst alphabet agencies. The FDA leaders retire and then go and work for Monsanto, come on man. The FDA is only friends with big business. EPA, regulating businesses so much that they are forced to create jobs in other countries and also they seem to be really good at polluting rivers. The EPA is also in the pocket of big business.

Your two most important federal agencies are also two of the most corrupt. Seems like things are going great. :thumb:

Last time I checked around 26 countries have banned the use of GMOs, yet the FDA continues to prevent even labeling GMOs.

Your not wrong in that there are major issues. Your thinking is a bit off on what to do about it though. You simply say "lets get rid of them".. I ask again, what would you put in its place? Would you trust the companies to regulate themselves?

Heard this somewhere before, not sure where but I think it's relevant. "A democracy may not be the the best way to run a government but a better way has not yet been found."

I said we should strive to make them better, but getting rid of them is retarded.

Back to the topic...this is blown way out of proportions. Toyota and GM killed bunch of people. Toyota with their accelerator issue and GM with the ignition switch issue. (200 people for GM.) and they are fine. So nobody is going to kill 15-20 billion dollar a year business over a little pollution issue.

I agree beast but its a damn shame. I kind of always held them with a little higher regard then the other companies you listed. I wanted to believe they did things right and proper. This could really effect how people think of the company.

The TDI Clean diesel was universally respected. Nobody could really match it in terms of performance matched with emissions greatness. Now we find out it was a bunch of bullshit. Shame on them.

More German automakers may be afoul of US emission standards

The article says that the US taxpayer shelled out $51M per year in subsidies for their so-called "clean diesel" engines. I hope the feds sue VW to recoup the money. I have no issues with subsidies for clean vehicles, but they really have to be clean, not a sham.
