Yea, seems like with all of the other branches your kind of dispensable whereas with the air force your more of a specialist. Don't really think of a grunt when you think about the air force.

I had specialized training. SATCOM school is 50 weeks long where as something like infantry is 8 weeks. There are plenty of specialized jobs in the army but regardless of your job as an enlisted it always has that grunt/field lifestyle.

Comparing air force and army is like comparing blue collar and corporate. Generally speaking.

Seems like infantry may seem cool to kids coming in, but probably does not provide too many skills that translate to civilian life.

Also important to point out that without those "grunts" we wouldn't have much of a military. Just want to be clear about that, I don't mean to use that term in a disrespectful way.
