You guys don't understand. I played PS3 with this guy for a few years and while he is one of the nicest and laid back fellas you will ever know, he is laid back to a fault. This guy and electronics is something out of a circus show. On any given day he would have issues with his mic, his controller, his ps3, the game itself, the tv, the remote, the elctric plug, the speakers, and it goes on and on. His solution to fixing any one of these problems was.. "ehhh ill get a new one at best buy".

trust me when i tell you, he will not tweak or setup anything correctly.

I would just google search your model and settings and you will find many discussion boards that have a good set of settings to begin.

Very basic rule of thumb for any tv without getting into the tedious tasks is to simply turn down the back light and contrast by 10-20 notches each. The vivid setting usually has both of these setting at 100 or Full. I keep both mine at 80 which is bright enough for day time viewing but not burn your eyeballs bright at night.

Second, turn off artificial filters. Anything with fake gamma. This makes the picture "pop" more in a bright room but it causes whats called black crush. Meaning in any dark scenes of a movie or show all detail will be lost. You'll be looking at a black image with no detail rather then what you are intended to see.

Man board is full of tv experts lol.
Tv did come with a built in calibration mode so it's a simple one button set up but still had to tweak a little.
And lmao bouncer said it perfectly. 99% of the time my shit comes broken out of the box lol.
Ok one thing I don't think I'll be able to live with this tv is the shit sound quality. I set the built in eq to the max for a little deeper sound and it still sound like fingernails agains blackboard. :eek:
Yes I can turn on my surround sound or go buy a sound bar but shit, I'd like to turn the tv on without all that shit once in a while.

Beast, seriously get the Disney WoW disk. It is not very expensive and is excellent.

I have that disc (per your recommendation a few years back) and I wasn't impressed with the final product. It wasn't until I went to some av forums and tried some recommended user settings that I got the best out of that Sharp turd.

Really? I had pretty good luck with it. Our experiences seem to be completely opposite lol... I really like my Sharp and you have had nothing but problems with it.
