Earlier this year, we reported on some important research suggesting that we should all be having more anal sex. A study published in the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior claimed that anal sex was the "hands-down winner for both sexes" if an orgasm was your goal. And when it is not? "Anal sex appears to be the hands-down winner for both sexes," data journalist Mona Chalabi wrote. "100 percent of men and 94 percent of women say they orgasmed during encounters in which they received anal sex."
But against scientific recommendation, interest in anal sex might be waning. This according to Pornhub's most recent trend report, which, despite claiming that "It's All Coming Up Anal," warns that the Era of Ass might finally be coming to a close. Why? Because millennials.
Analyzing (pun intended) Pornhub's search trend data, we see that 18-to-24-year-old users are 33 percent less likely to search for butt sex on Pornhub than any other age group, despite being the target demographic for much of the butt stuff still dominating everywhere from pop culture to the Paris runways. Seems today's tastemakers are no longer as tantalized by butts as they used to be, at least on the Internet, if not IRL.
