I think everyone agrees that something needs to change but what? Didn't seem like the article mentions the next steps or possible changes that would help resolve this issue.

The foreigners have the answer for you. Gun Control. They think they can compare their tiny little insignificant countries to a world super power like the US of A. It's like comparing a fire cracker to a nuclear bomb and thinking the same rules apply.
They can never answer this 1 simple question. Why hasn't the drug problem improved? Drugs are illegal and controlled. It's called the black market and in the US we have a much larger and more powerful black market than shitty little Australia or the UK. These little runts can't speak on the issue because the issue is not at all the same.
As I said before, during prohibition when alcohol was made Illegal, the drinking rate increased. This is a cold hard fact.
America was founded by strong willed gun slingers. The culture is not pussified like the UK and Australia though the rate of pussification is increasing.
The whole world knows what needs to change, the question is whether America is brave enough to admit they've had it wrong.
Ok. I'll get behind it. Create a special task force to go around and collect all of the guns and then melt them down. I bet we will see more than 32,000 deaths during the gun confiscation and I bet crime will increase across the board. Thugs will love running into houses not afraid of any resistance.
Well, the way you posted it, you were implying that the shooters were extra depraved for shooting at people with developmental disabilities.
I dont see that being much of a stretch, thinking that they are extra depraved for shooting developmentally disabled people. In my mind that would imply a segment of the population less able to potentially defend or fend for themselves.
Similar to crimes committed against children. The more defenseless the victim, to some degree the more depraved the crime in my humble opinion.
Such atrocities are acts of cowardice and when committed on those less likely to be able to defend themselves the more cowardly (or depraved) the act in my mind.
If there's going to be gun control legislation, it would have to be done consistently across the nation. Otherwise, all one needs to do is to drive a few miles and buy whatever.
