That movie is bad ass in many ways. The cast, the plot(and twisted), graphic and not to mention that back then when this movie was made, movies were not even close or made in comparison to this length of 270 minutes. With this movie, you've got 3hrs of great entertainment.

its a strange thing with the god father series. it has everything I like in a movie. great acting, story, and every check you could possibly give a movie it has. I get it, its one of the best movie series of all time. Yet somehow I don't love it as much as everyone else. Maybe it has to do with length? I'm not sure but anytime I've ever watched it I found myself checking the time, never pulls me in like say the movie Blow.
