The Hiking and Outdoors Thread

I thought I'd start a thread where we can share photos and descriptions of any hiking, backpacking, skiing etc. that anyone may have done.

We have been out cross country skiing for the last two days around Mt Hood. We will go snowshoeing tomorrow before heading back home.

There is a ton of snow here. Precip has been well over normal for December. Ski time temps were very nice, partly sunny and in the low 20s. Perfect weather!

Here is a photo of my son coming down a hill. The trail was spectacular.

I'll have to dig some of mine up when I get some free time after the holiday. I've got photos from Dolly Sods West Virginia, a few trips to Red River Gorge Kentucky, and Great Smokey Mountains Tennessee.

Spent all morning snowshoeing around Mt. Hood today. Beautiful country - I don't know if I can ever live more than an hour's drive from the woods or the wide open spaces of the West.

Yep. When we were a couple of miles from the trailhead, it was so quiet and surreal, it felt like we were in Narnia lol... Being Christmas, there was hardly anyone else around.
