Bouncer, there are a bunch of books that are written for young readers. I highly recommend starting with them. They are short, extremely well written and have very interesting and important themes.

The Giver is one of them. Number the Stars is another. Also, Hatchet. Try them, you will like them a lot

Bouncer, this is the bookshelf in my living room. It is about 8.5 feet tall. It has about half the books I own. The rest is distributed over 3 other rooms. So, I'm not just a Kindle guy! :)

Haha that's awesome. I've always like the look of a big book shelf in a home. My Grandmom had one and I it calmed me somehow. Weird I know.

1. Before the Dawn - Recovering the Lost History of our Ancestors - Nicholas Wade

Robot Check

Excellent book on human origins and our hominid ancestors. Pretty modern treatment covering all the recent genetics developments in tracing the evolution of humans out of Africa.

An excellent book for the general reader about the newest and most exciting topics in modern cosmology - dark matter and dark energy. Very well written and perfectly accessible to the general lay public.

4. Silence Once Begun - Jesse Ball

Silence Once Begun: A Novel (Vintage Contemporaries): Jesse Ball: 9780345805522: Amazon.com: Books

One of the strangest books I have read. A group of people missing in Japan, a man confesses to the crime, but won't reveal anything else. A reporter peels back the strange story of the man and the circumstances of what happened.

5. The Life We Bury - Allen Eskens

A gripping tale of a a dying man, convicted of murder. But there is more to Carl Iverson's life, and it is up to a college student writing a term paper to unravel the mystery.

4.5/5. Excellent story with lots of twists and turns.
