Fucking engine went in my truck today.. 123,000 miles..WTF??

Oh well shit happens seized up on the way to work, apparently head gasket blew water flooded top end and it seized. Never had a leak, never burned or used any oil, trucks been great...BOOM instantly gone..

Getting a remanufactured engine installed with a 3 year unlimited miles parts and labor warrantee for 4k.

Right when things are looking good and ya get to come up for air..ya get kicked in the nuts..

I'm gonna get a truck like that when I get big and put "team alpha" across the back. That'll impress the bitches.

2004 Ford sport track 4x4. Its been a great truck till this:rofl: I really like it. midsized truck 6 cyl pretty good on gas.. But it rides up and feels like a full sized truck. lots of room for my long legged ass, very comfortable. Great ground clearance running 32 in tires. Loaded interior..leather heated seats etc.

I just cant believe 123K and the motor let go..thats just crazy..

That does seem crazy. Are they known for bad head gaskets? 32" tires? lol I bet they cost a small fortune.

I recently got a Dodge Ram 1500. Has the 5.7 Hemi engine. I'm loving it. Always had a car and then a beater SUV but sold both for the truck. It rides great and I can tow a decent amount with it too. Only bad is I'm used to my car's gas millage of 33-34 mpg. :D

Yea them big 8's eat it up I had a F250 for years. hated the gas bill but loved the truck.

No big history of this I could find by doing a search...I guess it just falls into the shit for luck category.:agreed:

Biggest problem/ fault with these trucks is the fuel gage not working. They have a history of that. Ford knew of the problem, but never did a recall..they found a way thru the lawyers to blame it on the ethanol in the fuel.. Mine does have that issue, I just hit trip odometer and every 250 miles fill it up. Its a habit now and also allows me to track fuel mileage.. so I know when its time for a tune up..

My old beater Chevy Blazer had a bad fuel sensor - all most all of them did. Same thing no recall.

My truck does decent on the highway, I average around 20mpg it's the back roads that sucks. I'm averaging around 16mpg right now. What do you get on your truck?

If your complaining now when gas is dirt cheap your gonna be pissed when it triples in a year or so. :panic:

Im getting about 16 to 18 around town. about 20 on highway. Now But I'm also pushing 4X4 and oversized tires so that hurts it as well. Curious to see if it improves with this new motor.

Rip I wonder if the extra weight of the tires somehow put extra strain on engine?

No not at all, but it does make the speedometer off a few MPH.
