I grew up watching his documentaries. When he died, I felt like my own grandfather or uncle died. Haven't felt like that for anyone else, except maybe Carl Sagan.

I think his series was a bit before my time so I never saw them. I'm watching one of his shows now on YouTube. It has that sense of passion and wonder that I loved about cosmos. Even the music adds mystery and intrigue. How long did his series run?
