I don't find the Dems any more or less truthful than the Republicans. They are all typical politicians. But at least, I don't have to worry about them doing dumb shit like getting rid of the EPA or the DOE, gutting the scope and funding of the NOAA, denying climate change, having a Luddite view of stem cell research, and trying to sell off public land in the West to their oil and gas buddies like the Koch brothers.

I wasn't referring to the entire Democratic Party, just Hillary.

Hillary vs Cruz or Trump? No contest. If the GOP had somebody like Colin Powell, I would have given it much thought. But the GOP is beyond hopeless right now. They are downright dangerous.

Well, let's see.. I view the major threats to the country as a)environment/global warming b)domestic terrorism c)ISIS, etc. in that order.

I have a lot more faith in the democrats to fund the organizations - the EPA, NOAA, etc. to do the basic science on environmental issues, and to be motivated to convert from our current fossil based energy infrastructure to renewables. Neither Trump nor Cruz will do anything about environment/climate issues. Heck, they don't even believe we have a problem. It's laughable to think they will do anything.

I have no faith that either Trump or Cruz will do anything on the domestic terrorism front. Just look at the hordes attend Trump rallies - not very different from Il Duce if you ask me. Cruz is VERY sympathetic to the sovereign citizen movement out West. You have to live hear to see how dangerous the situation is. Of course, Cruz couldn't care less about them. He's more interested in using them to carve up fed land in the West for oil and mineral companies. But both Trump and Cruz have some pretty crazy and dangerous bedfellows that are going to get more and more emboldened unless we take firm steps legally against them.

Finally, both Trump and Cruz have engaged in so much crazy talk about ht Middle East, it is not clear to me if they even understand what is going on over there. Both of them think you can carpet bomb your way to victory in the ME and they are nuts. Absolutely nuts. It will be folly of the highest kind to think that will work. Don't even get me started on Trump and his torture ideas. Is he crazy? I swear, he is the first candidate I know who makes violation of the Geneva Convention a plank of his platform. It boggles the mind he is even a candidate, leave alone the guy who is leading the GOP primaries. That's how far into crazytown we have ventured on the GOP side.

Look, I'm not saying Hillary is perfect by any means. But overall, I'd take her over these two chuckleheads in a heartbeat. It's not even that close, really. To answer your question, yes, Hillary is a vastly less dangerous option than either Trump or Cruz.

Yes, I am the most liberal out here probably but I am willing to listen to reasonable conservative opinion. Not batshit crazy stuff, like carpet bomb the Middle East, climate change is not real, etc. These are just flat out wrong, not a matter of a subtle difference of opinion. Like I said, I would be more than willing to given someone like Colin Powell a fair shot at getting my vote, someone who actually has a well articulated and thoughtful approach to problems. Not the "yeah, murica, bomb those ragheads to kingdom come" shit that these guys espouse.

I'm sorry Jack, but the current GOP is completely out to lunch. But sadly, it is not at all certain that the Dems will win in November. We may actually be saddled with one of these dangerous lunatics in charge.
