Toddler died from meningitis after anti-vaxx parents treated him with maple syrup instead of medicine

That's sick. They do not deserve to be parents. Fuck their religious beliefs, this is a human life at stake not a guinea pig

We really need to institute a rule that says NO exemptions, religious or otherwise. If you don't want to get vaccinated, then you will NOT be allowed to use any public facilities- schools, libraries, transportation, etc. If you wnat to go live on a deserted island, then fine. But if you want to interact with the rest of the world, then get vaccinated. This kind of bullshit is SERIOUSLY impacting our public health. Diseases that we have got rid of years ago are now making a comeback because of these idiots who belong in the dark ages. And putting your own kids at risk, that's just plain sick and should be prosecuted for child endangerment.

I'm all for treating stuff naturally, but some shit needs actual medicine. You can't fuck around with meningitis.

I think some places have rules as far as attending the public school system etc. ie: If your child does not have his/her vaccinations he/she cannot attend public school.
Its a big problem when you are talking about potentially endangering others, not just your own child. Plus what about the child? An innocent victim if there ever was one. Crazy situation man.

Not when something is as cut and dry as meningitis. You treat your child with maple syrup and you deserve your head kicked it.

                  Simplest subject in the world.

There are mountains of evidence that vaccinations are safe and effective. In this day and age, there should really not even be a question about it, except in the feeblest of minds.

The English turd who claimed otherwise was proven to be a liar and was thrown out of academia as a result of his fraud but he has done untold damage to public health.

Fun fact, I've never had the flu even though I was exposed to it many times. I've never had a flu shot that I can remember.

Not that there is any point to my story. I agree 100% with scrum.

                      No I don't agree

There is evidence of correlations etc that give concerns over some vaccines.

In the case if meningitis I don't know and clearly some of the illnesses they are intended to prevent are very serious.

I vehemently disagree that someone has a weak mind if they want to question. As a parent you are being negligent if you don't look into each proposed medical intervention.

I work with a lady of about 50 plus years of age and who us very bright but has disability most notably to her lower limbs. She claims that as a child she contracted a polio type illness from the polio vaccine itself. If you look into it there's alot of information out there.

I would never carte blanche accept that all vaccines are created equal, and I would never be intimidated by anyone about treatment.

A slight digression, but when I was 21 I was given to believe a course of treatment waa right by a consultant (that's higher ranking than a doctor in UK medical terms), but something was off and when I questioned it to begin with I was atemptedly bullied and told "we are the experts, do as you are told". It was hard to argue, but my own gut feel and logic thought something was off
I begun the treatment and within a day I felt it wasn't right. Rather than be afraid of someone trying to intimidate me as above I went back to.the same consultant and even in my weakened state demanded that the treatment was off. Finally in an attempt to shut me up and shu me off the consultant said "take a seat I'm going to get a more senior colleague to assess you and you can apologise to me"

Long story short the senior consultant assessed me and within a short space of time contra diagnosed me and told me it was a good thing I came back when I did because if I hadn't I could have gone blind!!!

And that kids, is an absolutely true story, DONT BE INTIMIDATED BY ANYONE WHEN IT COME TO YOUR HEALTH

Mr I in the case of the meningitis and the parents treat with syrup. Would it be bullying those parents to force them to take the kid to the fucken hospital?

In this case the kid had clear signs of meningitis and certainly if the parents knew and in any case given the general signs, the kid should have been admitted.

I'm just saying that the wider subject of vaccines is a difficult one

Let me say that I am not anti vax. 100% people should be vaccinated, I just want to put this out there as to where they get their argument. The insert for a common vaccination. SIDS and autism are highlighted under adverse reported reactions.
