I'm not much for anthropomorphising, but damn, I got a lump in my throat. Just the words.

Canned hunting - I'd like to see the hunters in the cage and the lions let loose for a change.

Yeah there is no sport in that at all. Honestly if they wanted sport with the caged animal they'd handle it like the gladiators using a blade. That would be sport. I don't see lions as being an animal that needs controlled at the moment with how much they've been poached. It would be one thing if they were rampant and decimating other species but they need to be protected better for the foreseeable future or they will end up on the extinction list with so many others.

All top predators are like that. It's a shame that we feel the need to do any trophy hunting at all. Hunt for food in a sustainable manner, I'm all for that. But the bear, the wolf, the lion, the cougar, rhino, elephant, etc., just leave them the hell alone. Why kill them. Human beings are disgusting creatures sometimes.

No doubt. We've already proven we are the top of the food chain so there is no need to take those kinds of creatures. Like I said, it would be one thing if they were a problem for other species, lands, etc and over abundant but they are not.

It's when animals are kept in a confined area for sole purpose of trophy hunting. Basically makes it easier for he animal to be hunted.

Humans at the top of the food chain? Put a man in the wild nothing, but his wits and hands and you'll find out real quick how high you are on the food chain lol.

Lol so true. Have you seen an angry house cat attack a human? Lol we can't even defeat a cat with our bare hands let alone anything bigger and stronger.

Do you guys watch any of the naked and afraid shows? These people get eaten alive by bugs when they go to sleep at night. Humans are the tender steak of the food chain. No fur, no thick hide...just straight meat and fat.

Yup, only reason we are "top of food chain" is our mind. Certainly not physical. Imagine a fucken lion with a human brain. ripper would be in for a real surprise. :D

Exactly. We are the top, that's not even up for debate. Our minds give us the ability to make weapons, traps etc to defeat physical abilities.

I'd love to see a lion chasing ripper with an AK.

So if you're in the wild, or at sea, and you don't have all the resources at your disposal, would it be possible to take on a bear or a shark with your mind? A powerful Jedi you are.

Well if we are taking away what we have done with our minds then something that important should be taken from them. Perhaps teeth and claws.

There isn't a predatory species we couldn't wipe off this planet if we wanted to. It is already happening. That is the point of this thread. Humans need to have the compassion to allow them to live. We have the power here not not them therefore we are the predators.
