Not at all. You might be a natural though and would never know it. A few years ago I had a friend originally from England that had been living in Germany for some time and was over in the states for a week for his job. He was 50 and had never held a gun but was interested. First time shooting a pistol and he was as good as me. He really enjoyed the experience as well.
