It's not some bleeding heart liberal talking. It is the former head of US Special Forces.

And he is pretty much saying what I have pointed out many times, that blindly attacking and bombing and killing in the Middle East will only create more people pissed off at the US and the West, and if only 0.1% of them go so far as to take up arms, we have a real terrorism problem on our hands.

The only way to fix this is to address the root causes of why there is discontent in the Middle East. Why do people get so disenchanted, so bleak about their future, that they feel compelled to leave behind life and family and freedom to strap on a suicide bomber's vest and travel to die a long way from home.

love it.. Hind site is a wonderfull thing..later down the road...you found a SF guy who agrees with your thoughts. Truth is there are many folks who think like this as now we know things we didn't at the time...as there are many who think the opposite..that by pulling out too quickly Obama created it....the bottom line is this..does it really matter who thinks what? or is it more important to fix the issue and crush these assholes?

or should I rephrase that as it would be considered aggressive?
