Been a tough season but I finally rolled one up this weekend. Cool part was I got Sheri to go...the big city girl out in the woods...:grin:
He wouldn't come or even react to a call. He had 3 hens with him. They were out in the middle of a big probably 6 acre open field.so I'm thinking..... FUCK YOU BOUNCER AND YOUR GODDAMN GOLF COURSE BIRDS!!!:thumb: We watched them thru the Binos for a bit and figured out which way they were travelling.We got to the edge of the field and dropped my turkey vest, Sheri just hung out there staying hidden and watching.. and I started low crawling out into the field after his ass. I had to close about 200 yds but with him coming in a zig zag motion towards me. I moved from one clump of grass to the next..trying to keep any clumps or high spots between us..anything for some concealment. It took a good 30 min of flat belly snake crawling to get in close enough for a shot I belly crawled well over 100 yds as the birds were coming towards me. The hard part was swinging the gun and getting a bead on that head from the prone position, any time I would try to lift my head up just a bit...one of them fuckers would stretch out that neck and stare my direction sensing my movement.. but I folded his ass up at about 42 yds...:clapback::clapback: His ass is going on the smoker one night this week!!!!!!:grin: I got to use some of those old Cavalry scout skills on his ass!!! Did some sneeking and peeking:rofl:
