I have my stuff backed on to two different drives. I would recommend triple redundancy. Also consider cloud backup. It's pretty affordable these days.

By triple redundancy, I mean that your data exists in 3 places - your computer and two independent backup locations. One could be a local drive, one in the cloud. Computers have a way of failing, especially hard drives.
