I always wondered how you can fish for a certain fish. Do you catch alot of other things and just hope for the one type you're looking for?? I know its a dumb question, just something I always thought about....lol

i dont know much about it but i think certain of fish like certain types of bait. so if you use a certain type of bait you are more likely to catch what your after.

It's a science, water temp, water depth, type of bottom, time of year, type of bait used etc... Trolling, free lining, bottom fishing. Wow a topic of conversation on this forum that I can actually pitch in info and not feel like a moron.

Depending on what you want bro. Maps will give you an idea on what type of fish You'd like and where to fish for it.

If you want trout, that can be fished in lakes or streams with cool water.

Carp for example is along the canals and rivers.

Perch can be found in freshwater, lakes, ponds river streams etc..hope that makes sense.

Lots of time on the water burn lots of gas save locations in a GPS and a log book with tide info water temp moon phase season bait depth.etc...

You can target certain species certain times of year with specific tactics. The ocean is a big place but yes we target certain fish and get them.:grin:
