  • Car got broken into!

And I am traveling abroad and won't be back until Sunday! [emoji35]

Got a call from the PD on my voicemail. Still trying to figure out the details from long distance and a 12+ hour time difference.

If it is just a window smashed in, should I take it to a body shop, or to one of these window replacement guys? I guess I'll contact my insurance co and figure out what they recommend.

Goddammit, I was in a happy state of my mind with a successful trip and everything and this happens!

    In your driveway or what?

In a parking garage next to my condo. It's where I always park but someone must have noticed the car hasn't moved in several days and decided to break in.

I would take it to the body shop. Did you have any valuables that could of been stolen?

Sucks man. Go through your insurance, it'll be easier. What car is it?

My radar detector. Sucks... I was about to remove it and take it home but said nah at the last minute and left it there. I'm sure it's gone. I probably had a twenty dollar bill in the glove box but that's about it.

            It's a 2014 Focus ST.

Damn bro what a buzz kill. I'd do a body shop myself.

that sucks. I hope it wasn't a nice radar detector like a valentine or Escort. Hopefully everything works out.

Scrum? I'm shocked. You driving a Focus ST? Damn, I figured a Camry or Accord lol

On a side note, Cobb makes a decent tune for the ST.

Yeah, Valentine one. Nothing but the best. :(

And I will pretend you never mentioned the Accord and Camry just to save me the trouble of coming to MD and slapping you silly.

Ugh... that sucks. I have the Escort 9500ix, and I wouldn't know what to do if I lost it or it got stolen.

haha... come to MD and smack me. I'll pay for your plane ticket. Whats your paypal?

Your insurance deductible is probably higher then the cost of the new window. I personally would take it to a auto glass place or have one of them come to you and repair it right where its parked. A auto body shop is gonna buy the window then up the price so you will probably get a better deal going with somebody that only does windows.

You could probably even have them come fix the window now and it will be all fixed and ready to go when you get back.

Yeah, but I am going to look at it first just to make sure nothing else is damaged. If it's just the glass, I agree. But if the asshole damaged the leather seats or scratched up the door, then I may have to go the insurance route.

Damn Scrum sorry to hear that brother. I definitely know how it feels. I had 4 occasions where my vehicle got robbed. First, when I was 16 left my car unlocked in the driveway and had my cd player and 20 cds stolen (back in the day when that shit cost good money). Second, again forgot to lock my doors when I went to calling hours for a friend who passed-somebody ripped 30 cds off while I was inside. 3rd, on my 21st bday, somebody smashed my widow out and took cd player, alpine amp, and 80 cds. Last, day before Xmas eve, window smashed out, another cd player and cds gone. And only one of those happened in a city environment. Sounds like I lived in the hood.lol
