Fun trip to PCB

We had a good time seeing my old Army Bud. Got to get on his airboat tour and next day on his charter boat to some salt on us and a few fish for the grill too... We went to dinner at the Boars Head restaurant right on panama city beach...food was off the charts! I had a Blackened prime rib that was just simply amazing. if ever in Pamnama city beach there go eat there!! It was good to see Mike enjoying life and out of the Army environment. Vermillion snapper is the pile at the end. They are top 3 on the chart for eating IMHO. very sweet mild white flesh.

The other red fish shown is am American red snapper. we caught several of those and some a bit larger but they aren't in season and were released. The larger fish is an Amberjack. we caught several of those that size and were released as the season didn't open on them until today..Aug 1st...that sucked...:x

Great time and plenty of fish chewing..we only fished 10 miles out and were in 100 ft. To catch those here in Georgia, when I was chartering we had to run 40 miles out to hit 100 ft. They got it easy down there. makes me wanna move and get back into chartering again...:panic:

Damn Rip, those are some big fucking Vermillion's. Down in the Keys they are no where near that big. Agree on taste, to me only the hogfish and mutton snapper taste better.

Yea bro they were footballs!! several were well over 18 in. that's A BIG Vermillion!! We didn't cull any...just threw um into the ice. They were scarfing down Boston Macs cut as strip baits.:thumb:
