In the infantile playground worldview of Breitbart and its ilk, if THEY celebrate their "black culture," then surely we must respond with "white culture." Never mind the fact that "black culture" or identity is a direct result of slavery, Jim Crow laws and segregation that was FORCIBLY ended barely 60 years ago. 60 years ago, that's not a long time. There is NOTHING in the white experience on this continent that is even remotely comparable. I'm not sure what exactly is this "white culture" or "white pride" that people want to celebrate.

My point is that there is no "white" culture. Be proud of your Irish, German, Swedish, Ukrainian, etc. heritage by all means. But that's not what these guys mean. "White pride" is simply a childish response to black pride, or whatever, that is essentially an acknowledgement of a shared experience that represents some of the darkest moments of our nation's history.
