ahh my brother i'm sorry to hear.

i wont pretend to know exactly what it feels like to be in your shoes but I will say most of us have been through tough times where it feels like we may never come out the other side.

you will be stronger because of this. things will work out I have no doubt about it.

I've posted this before and it may be a bit cheesy at this moment when things are so hectic for you but it's helped me in the past to remind myself the attitude in life we must have when the chips are down and your feeling low. give it a good listen and take it in. do what you need to do, even if you fall, you get right the fuck up and you never doubt yourself.

it's very easy to be strong when things are going well. it's what you do when your feeling down and things aren't going so well that really shows you who you are and what life is all about.

I'd move bro. You only live once and Naples FL is beautiful. Lots of jobs out here in California too, also beautiful out here.

We will see. Really like to be here for my dad right now and the kids and wife cried when I brought up possibly moving. Nobody in the house wants to leave family and friends and I'm not sure I want the added headache of managing to clean house of all our shit, fix house, sell house, find a good school district with a decent house manage an expensive multi trip move and top it off with finding new doctors, transferring contact info at 100 places and licenses etc.

It's a lot easier when it's just a person or two with no commitments. At this point I'll take a pay cut to not have all that added stress. I've got a couple leads and connections I'm following up on in the area ATM.

Plus the 3k or more that it would cost to move. People say "move, you only live once". Very difficult to uproot an entire family.

Yea I can understand that. With kids and a sick father I guess his situation is a different one than maybe mine was.

I can understand that, but 3k is nothing when you are talking about someone's lifetime. So what you sacrifce 3k and live on a bit less for one year just to improve your life.

I can give you my story, I grew up in the deep south had horrible allergies, mosquitoes, humidity, low income, shitty job prospects, and lived around pretty ignorant close minded people and you know what, I was one of them, never wanted to move because of $$$ and family and I had to finally move for a job transfer to Arizona and holy shit did my eyes open to how much better life can be. From there I moved to Miami and then ultimately to southern Cal. I'm in Nor Cal now and I've learned that the location I live in is actually more important that friends and family. I can always visit them, but my life is too short to live in a shitty place. Man I wake up every day year round to the most amazing weather, tons of job opportunities, and open minded, progressive, and empathetic people and have new friends and basically a new "family" out here. Life is good now but it took sacrifices and balls to actually make the change. "Leap and the net will appear".

I wish my parents had sacrificed 3k when I was a kid and moved me out of that shit hole. I can't imagine how much better my childhood would have been had I grew up in California.

Let me be the first to say "THE WEST!!!"

Come and join us and never look back! Once you are here, the continent ends at the Rockies, nothing east of that is relevant! :D
