I need a new french press. I just broke the glass carafe on mine, knocked it off the counter into the sink. :(

Anyone have any specific ones to recommend? I'm thinking of a stainless steel one so I don't break it again but not sure I want to 80-90 bucks for it.

Don't know why anyone in their right minds would buy coffee ed vs. Having a machine unless of course your swimming in dough.

I know MANY people who do bro. Don't have to be wealthy to buy coffee ED. But if you're like me that has a trenta clover coffee from Starbucks ED....ummm yea that's $4 a pop...so with hers and mine, that's a bit much ED.

Yeah you don't gotta be wealthy but then you wonder why people complain about being broke. I'm gonna go to starbucks sometime and try that gonna ask for the rado.

I'm thinking of buying this guy - that way, my clumsiness won't result in me having to pick out glass shards from the garbage disposal. :breakit:

My guess would be convenience and its an addictive drug. The Starbucks line out the door and wrapped around the corner.

Looks good Scrum. I have a cheap glass unit $20. Is there any benefit over the stainless steel?

Does it make a good cup or coffee? Be honest... I had a few Keurig's over the years and its just ok nothing great. It gets the job done.

Glass is fine. I'm just a clumsy guy and I've broken two of them, so I figured I'll get something I can't destroy! :D

It depends on your type of taste you'd like for coffee...If you're the type of person who can drink just about any coffee and be ok with that, then I would not suggest getting a ninja and spend it on something like $45 or so.

IT DOES make a difference in my coffee, also the coffee I use is big part of it.

I have had the K cups and honestly, weak, diluted, etc...cheap coffee...I specifically like how it has the setting for iced coffee; big difference in taste when that option isn't there.

But you know what? It was $100 bucks bro, actually $107 in change:D Can't pass that up regardless of whether or not someone is a coffee enthusiast like me.

A $30 french press will make better coffee than any machine. It has nothing to do with the cost of the machine. Get good beans and grind them fresh every day.

This is where the press doesn't do good....once you press and then dispense into cup for iced coffee, that's where it gets tricky...flavor and strength is lost, been there done that.

Good iced coffee machines will do the right amount desired so that when ice is mixed, flavor and strength isn't compromised. You can debate it all you want, but it's true.
