  • Why does Siri seem so dumb?

    Apple Blows

If you try and treat Siri like a truly intelligent assistant, aware of the wider world, it often fails, even though Apple presentations and its Siri website suggest otherwise. (And I’m not talking about getting your voice wrong. In my recent experience, Siri has become quite good at transcribing what I’m asking, just not at answering it.)

In recent weeks, on multiple Apple devices, Siri has been unable to tell me the names of the major party candidates for president and vice president of the United States. Or when they were debating. Or when the Emmy awards show was due to be on. Or the date of the World Series. When I asked it "What is the weather on Crete?" it gave me the weather for Crete, Illinois, a small village which — while I’m sure it’s great — isn’t what most people mean when they ask for the weather on Crete, the famous Greek island.

I use "ok Google" and works great, never any issues.

Which makes me wonder just how good this new pixel phone with Google assistant is going to be

It's what we've been saying for years about Nexus. It's "the Google phone". It's why me and scrum have one.

listen, samsung does what i need and then some. google phone sure does look interesting, but can't get past the basic look of the phone i guess.

when i see myself spending $500, $600 or more on a gadget, i want it to at least look nice.

what is really nice about the google phone, so it seems...is the assistant of course, but more importantly im liking how it has the best camera lens out there, period!

one thing about samsung that can not be disputed, is there lens for pics and videos. i need a phone like that since i do tons of vids/pics.

See I I've never liked the look of the Samsung phones. They remind me of a Lincoln navigator from back in the day with chrome lining and all that shit. Shit looks tacky to me. I like clean lines that blend seamlessly. Samsung never had that look imo.

not sure what phone you're talking about bro, but every samsung phone i've had, has clean lines, looks nice and elegant, nothing flashy.

but as much as i talk about the new S8, i'm really considering the google phone...i like how i can pre-order now and take to AT&T to hook up.

im all over the place right now because my options are limited for phones and i'm super picky.
