I gotta wait till tomorrow when the free streams are available. I'll post when their up. Was the episode one of their journey's where they go across a desert or a country etc.. or was it more of a car show with different segments?

Was it a lot like top gear or different?

Wasn't bad. Didn't care for the American acting as their new stig. Guy wasn't funny. Hope they don't do any celeb interviews either. Thought the whole tent news skit was lame with the fake fight between the audience and the hosts.

Shame for the P1 losing. I have a feeling it's down to tires. All the cars had the same tires to be equal but the P1 really seemed to struggle on those.

2nd episode was horrible. 50% chat show in the tent and 50% scripted and forced special forces wannabe action thriller.

Why though? The 3 know how to be funny, they have the same producer and a much bigger budget?

They are at their best when they are just 3 old friends having fun on some cross country trip.

The current show feels exactly the opposite. Feels like 3 guys getting paid to make a forced and scripted program.

3rd episode... Absolute garbage. Forced unfunny slop.

Tent was set up in England yet the episode took place in England? I thought the idea was that you tour the world and set up a tent wherever you are filming that particular week.

                        Anyway, just pure shit.

Just one of those things. The magic is gone. Almost a 5 million dollar budget per episode? Give me a break.

I just noticed I said the tent was set up in England yet the episode took place in England. Lol. I meant tent setup in England episode took place in Italy.

couldn't agree more. the 4th episode made me laugh a few times when james car fell apart but that was it. the rest is so forced and scripted it actually hurts. just let the guys be 3 old fellas go on trips across countries and record what happens for fuck sake. enough of this trying to make it into hollywood bullshit action movies.

                              https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-r...n-era-top-gear

It’s frustrating, because this is such an easy show to get right. Three men, talking about cars, mocking one another, and going on adventures. That’s it. Stop scripting everything, and stop throwing money at pointless explosions. It’s tiresome.

The Grand Tour is not beyond repair, as it does get a lot right: the multinational settings work, allowing for some pleasant location-related joshing. And the car reviews are as entertaining as ever. The show just needs to embark on more make-and-make-do projects, like the amphibious cars or the rocket, without scripting the whole thing or hurling Trumpian wads of cash at it. Just allow the three men to simply talk to each other and come a cropper. This, and only this, is why people tuned in.
