San Fran is a beautiful city with great food and culture. It's a small city but it has a big name you know what I mean? It's like no other city I've ever been. If feels almost like a big town rather than a city if that makes sense. In NYC or Chicago it's easy to feel overwhelmed, it's not like that in San Fran. It's a more relaxed city. It's worth it IF you have the money. haha.

Plus if you drive 30-45 minutes out of the city you will be in Napa/Sonoma, one of the most beautiful places in the world IMO, especially in Sept before the grapes are picked.

Yeah it's worth it. Great fucking city with plenty of jobs and opportunities. You know the other thing it does? It puts your mindset on another level when you have to make this kind of money to just pay rent. You learn to hustle and basically it raises your line of sight regarding income. 200k feels like no big deal to me now and now I know I can survive anywhere if I can make it here.

Also, great weather, nice cars, good food, health conscience people. Lots of progressive medical doctors (for TRT and alternative type therapies), ocean, highway 1. Everything is accessible. Go to Lake Tahoe for the weekend to ski, or go to Sonoma/Napa for nature and wine, go down to Santa Cruz chill on the beach and watch the surfers/skateboarders. Legal Weed, low crime, no rednecks. Great fucking place to live.

Here is some hard numbers in LA.
3 bed apt 3k a month 36k year.
2 car payments 1k a month 12k year
$1400 a month day care almost 17k year. Daughter goes to public school so I'm including her expenses.
1k month health insurance 12k year
That's $77k a year without any food, utilities, cable, cell phone, gas, eating out and whatever else you guys can think of. Add that on top of the 77k and that's easily over 90k a year.
Oh of course let's not forget the taxes. To clear $90k a year you have to make about $120-$130k a year.
Fuck me! No wonder I'm broke. :rofl:

And they wonder why people have side hustles! Some people make great money with their "9 to 5" but then their kids hit college and now you have to pretty much take on an additional mortgage. My daughter starts college next year, $47,000 a year! So I have to sell Avon on the side to keep myself out of debt!

It's scary just thinking about it. I have a 5 year old and I'm already stressing. Imagine how much college will be 12 years from now. Hopefully by that time, my 529 plan will at least cover half the cost.

Same boat as Frank with college. My daughter is an athlete and plays volleyball. Just signed a scholarship offer. After freshman year everything is covered 100%. I have to pay for housing this first year. Been working a second job at a private gun range for the last year and half to have it covered.
