Definitely loving this new S8. The fingerprint scanner is still out for debate with me.

Something I wish that could be disabled, is Bixby. Like Siri for iPhone. I prefer Google asst.

The infinity glass is pretty cool. Haven't got the 3d VR eye gear yet.

You mean the location of the scanner or just the scanner itself? I love the scanner on my 5x. Makes things so much easier than a password or pattern.

As for that Samsung shit you can't disable. That's what I'm talking about. Samsung needs to stop fucking up the Google OS. Stock Android is so much better. Again, this is why I will only buy the pixel or Nexus lines. Software how Google intends it to be.

Location for sure....i do like using the fingerprint for everything.

Not only did they try and make a google assisstant replacement, they dedicated an entire hardware button to it. That is one of my only gripes about the S8

The Good

A slim-bezel design finally brings a more modern design to the Galaxy line.

On-screen buttons allow for smaller bezels, bigger screens, and a customizable (and correctable) button order.
Samsung's always-on hard-press home button is an awesome and innovative feature.

Samsung Pay combination of NFC and MST still makes it the best and most-compatible smartphone payment system.
The camera hasn't changed much but is still great.

Timely monthly security updates (for your old version of Android).

The Bad

The gimmicks. The iris scanner, curved screen, and heart rate sensor all seem designed to give talking points to your local Verizon salesperson, rather than provide a good user experience for customers.

The glass back is fragile and a fingerprint magnet.

Touchwiz is still a janky lag-fest. Despite the faster processor, the Google Pixel is a smoother, faster-feeling device.

No support for an always-on "OK Google" hotword for the Google Assistant.

Samsung blocks users from remapping the Bixby hardware key.

No adoptable storage for the MicroSD card.

The Ugly

Samsung takes five to seven months to deliver a major OS update. After the initial launch period, expect to be perpetually one to two versions behind the latest Android release.

So far very happy with the phone. Samsung outdid themselves. The battery is good enough to last me through the late evening, not bad how much I use it.
