Ozzy Osbourne managed to keep some secrets from those ubiquitous MTV cameras. The hard-living heavy metal icon has revealed that he was repeatedly sexually molested as a child and has only recently come to terms emotionally with the abuse.
"Two boys used to wait for me to come home after school," Osbourne, 54, confesses to the London Daily Mirror. "They felt me and touched me and ... it was terrible. The first time it happened was in front of my sister and that affected me even more."
Ozzy was just 11 and growing up in a working class family in Birmingham when he suffered the abuse, which he says "became a regular thing ... It seemed to go on forever."
Back then, it wasn't something discussed at home, so a "terrified" Osbourne kept it to himself. "I was afraid to tell my father or mother and it completely [bleeped] me up," he explains. "When I was a kid, people did not talk about these things like they do now. You didn't have chat shows talking about child molestation."
Ozzy decided to seek therapy for his long-suppressed trauma as wife Sharon began her well-publicized battle with cancer. "Dirty little secrets fester and that is one of the first things I said to my kids," he says. "Sharon knows all about it and it was only with her that I could finally relax and be myself."
