You keep saying "betrayed." What do you consider what those marines at Haditha did, what these helicopter gunship pilots did at Baghdad, what those guards did at Abu Graib? Did they also betray their country, or were they just soldiers doing their job? Because their job isn't torture, their job isn't murder. Those are the guys who really betrayed their country, not Chelsea Manning who revealed these crimes that would have otherwise been conveniently swept under the rug.

I'm not saying what you mentioned above was right from others!! Far from it... but there is more than just those documents he released.. thousands of documents.. you are so focus on one subject and not grasping the whole picture....
I seen with my very own eyes how shit was like in the middle east. It's rough and shit I can never erase in my subconscious! This fucking private had no right... Full benefits no dishonorable discharge and yet we have thousands of Vets homeless

She got sentenced and spent time in prison. She didn't get pardoned, she just got her sentence commuted. I think that choice acknowledges what you are saying, plus acknowledging the whole lot of good that hopefully came out of the revelations that she made. Again, she did her time and got her sentence commuted. Time to move on and let her live her life. I will still say that overall, the good she did outweighed the bad. Too bad war criminals like Cheney and W are millionaires, the superiors at Abu Graib didn't spend a second in prison and a whole lot of war criminals got off scot free. Those are the guys who sold the country down the road and did incalculable damage.
