air intake suggestions?

Hey guys and gals, I want to upgrade my dodge dakota's air intake. I was going to use the K&N but a guy at work told me K&N are not that good. Any suggestions as far as brands and reasons why will be appreciated.

Also planning chrome rims with fat tires (I'll ask about this later)and flowmaster exhaust?

If I was going to try to beef it up a little I would get a larger throttle body, a little bigger cam and free up the exhaust. You wont be able to tell a difference with the k&n( except on a engine dyno. A loer gear will help you on bottom end , with the fat tires you should be able to hook up good.

Thanks, I don't want to go into it that much with cams and all. I just wanted some simple easy to do stuff.

neve rplaye dwith dodge but go wit bigger mm throttle body and mass air shit also k&n is fine for what u want but what msot peeps dont know is that air cleaners are made wrong they are too restrictive even a k&n me eprsonally i make ym own was toguh a special way from this dud ehwo make them for industrial air conditonign units for buildign and ships etc.. but back ont opic lol k&n will be fine they are re-oilable

Ok, thanks for the help. I also read something about cold air intake. I will have to do more research.
