Just a note: ( just in case )
Don't make a rash decision in the heat of the moment, probably a few of those is what got you where you're at, so the same thinking will not get you out.
Guessing these are the same business guys you were having problems with.
Rarely do I ever say hey, this is me this is what I did, in this case I will take an exception.
Done a ton of business deals in my time, most of them based on the fact hungry for a dollar and willing to put in the work to achieve, nothing wrong with that.
What took me along time to figure out was what I do personally can't always do professionally.
For instance, personally I can out work the next guy, I will tote that barge and lift that bale, I will put my nose to the grind stone.
And personally I can do this and make it work, of course with that rare exception, in general though I'll do the "whatever it takes".
For years I went into so many deals with this attitude, I can and will do whatever it takes.
After probably like 15 years, hey very slow learner, finally dawned on me all my bad deals I'd done had very little to do with the deal, and believe me loved to do a deal, I was picking bad peeople to be in deals with.
First thing I did was draw a line in the sand, no more deals with dupes, period no matter how good the deal looks or smells can guarantee you their will be problems don't want, with dupes there are always problems, most of them are not intentionally creating these problems, they just happen in business, that's what we get paid for, most dupes avoid & deny problems till they whack you. And since I never do that in a deal, cause it always kills you in long run. Had to pick better partners.
Once I picked better partners my life changed, didn't know how much fun I was missing, cause I had on whole ten times less problems in my life and much much better and more secure deals.
So in summary, it is tough and gut wrenching and you will get through this because you are of that high character to do so.
Along the way you probably saw lot's of red flags you ignored cause didn't seem important at the time or you thought you could handle in future whatever, cause the prize looked great, the money. Ultimately those red flags grew and then rather than the pleasure of money, the pain of problems, and once you reach a certain point like the road runner you will hit bottom of canyon, sucks is you can feel it and see it all the way down.
As a general rule 80% of folks will deny and avoid problems, make sure your hanging with the 20% next time, and an fyi takes about 3-6 months to be sure you got a 20%.
Sorry about the frustration, good luck.
