  • Greetings from Italy!

Flew to Milan, rented a car and just got to Lake Maggiore in the Italian Alps.

Just checked into our apartment and went for lunch. Real pizza - tasted amazing!

Not sure, but the crust was incredible. And the cheese was so light. We each got a whole pie, about 9 inches across, and I ate the whole thing and didn't feel like a bloated whale like 3 slices of pizza would make me feel back home.

It's really not that expensive. My plane tickets were only about $650 RT from NYC. And if you do Airbnbs, you can stay for pretty cheap, plus you can cook at home and save money. Not that you want to spend all your time in front of a stove, but having a bowl of cereal or a slice of toast at home before heading out saves a lot of cash.

I'll never stay in a hotel room again. And the prices are no different, or even cheaper if you need more than 1 room.

Yes.. I know what you mean.. the pizza I had was 15 inches and it's very thin.. I have yet to come to any Italian restraunt with thick crust...
Next time try there pasta Carbonara

Whipped up some pasta at home for lunch, a little penne with this awesome marinara sauce and a piece of ciabatta.

These are the pasta sauces we picked up at the supermarket. Even the bottled stuff tastes amazing.
