  • Hello everyone

    I am new here.

A little about me: I used to be a dedicated lifter but ran into some hard times; lost my gym membership and didn't have the money to eat like I needed to maintain. So, I lost a ton of weight and strength. I had rotator cuff surgery about 10 months ago on top of that. I am just now able to try and regain my lost mass and strength. I have 95% of my shoulder mobility back and went to the gym yesterday to work it very lightly. I probably won't be able to go heavy for another couple months but I will push it a little and see. I will not risk tearing that cuff again though; that was hell.

Also, I have a new career that is steady. I won't get rich but I won't do without either. I can afford the membership and groceries so I'm back. I look forward to talking with you all and trying to regain my former glory, LOL.

I got divorced and she pretty much cleaned me out. I was very nearly homeless for a little while before I found a better job and got my feet back under me.

I have one of those really fast metabolisms that means I have to eat 3500 cals a day just to maintain what I had. For a few months after she left, I had to cut all extranious costs; no tv or internet and minimum groceries. Plus I was seriously depressed and unable to eat much anyway. It's taken me 3 years to fully recover financially and emotionally.

Sorry, I didn't really answer your question: What did I eat? Well, I do hunt so I always had a freezer full of deer meat. I mostly bought stuff like eggs, and veggies like brocolli, carots, and beans. Like I said though, I didn't have the appetite and lifting or maintaining my gains was not at the forfront of my mind.
