you drive out there or what? i did that drive a few times. jersey to Chicago. 13 hour drive if you leave at the right time and avoid rush hour. i got pulled over once in Ohio during one of the trips, was doing around 100mph in a 65. But because Ohio and New Jersey DMV don't work together like some states do it wasn't any points on my license. think it was a $375 fine though. was in the middle of nowhere corn field country.

I remember when you posted about that.
I flew into midway and got a rental. Flying out of Indiana later this evening.
Don't get shot visiting Chiraq. I don't go there anymore. I head down to St. Louis if I feel like visiting a big city.

i can tell you have never even been to Chicago. it's one of the cleanest and beautiful cities in the country. all the shit you hear on the news comes from south side Chicago which you will not even be close to when visiting downtown.
its like saying don't visit Hollywood or Beverly Hills in LA because of the gang shootings in Compton.
We'll be staying at the Hilton Chicago near the Bean and the Planetarium, right by Grant Park. That's an incredible part of the city. You're in Illinois, right? What you said is pretty strange, coming from you. Chicago is a fabulous city. I spent years in the area when I was a teenager and in college at the U of I. I never tire of visiting Chicago.
I have to go up there for conferences, mostly in the burbs but I have traveled in the city before. I like St. Louis far more. Easier to get around nicer people with a really cool vibe around Washington University.
