The gun debate in this country is beyond all hope. If 20 kids being killed at Sandy Hook didn't cause any change, nothing ever will.
It's American exceptionalism, I guess. Another area where we are exceptional. Nobody has every seen anything quite like it, our rate of gun violence.

What would you like to see done? Ban all guns? Let's do it. But, if an event happens in a few years (and it will), what will be the new blame game?

I get it brother, my only issue is there were only 4 mass shootings last year,, the debate always comes up when theres a mass shooring. shooting happen daily look at the in city of Chicago for example, people get shot everyday.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostThe gun debate in this country is beyond all hope. mass shooting is defined as 4 or more ppl shot (not criminal thing like robber-few stipulations cant rember)
the media said there were 650 thats because they defined it as 2 more more ppl.
focus on the issue

The hypocrisy about this is insane..the left/ democrats yell for new gun laws... change..but a quick google search will show that the ATF in 2010 (under the Obama administration) who had control of the congress and the house approved and stated that "bumpstocks" were legal and within the limits of the law. They could of passed a law at that time to stop the sale of these. They had the control. and the power to do so..but didn't have the guts to do it. But now its sensationalized all over the news because of some nut job...they are screaming about it blame the NRA and republicans. They only cry gun control when something happens...not in between the events.

i dont have a problem with guns. what i do have a problem with is the fact that this dude was able to buy all kinds of modifying kits LEGALLY and like 20-30 rifles in a single year or 2 LEGALLY. you should not be able to amass that amount of firepower in such a short period and raise no red flags.

I agree with the bumpstocks..there is no real reason to have one(just my opinion). As far as amounts of guns you can by..I don't agree..you can only shoot one at a time.. its no different collecting guns then baseball cards with responsible owners. I own about 15 guns..only time I ever shot at a person was with a gov issued rifle...hell it wasn't even full auto..just 3 round burst..:rofl:Originally posted by Bouncer View Posti dont have a problem with guns. what i do have a problem with is the fact that this dude was able to buy all kinds of modifying kits LEGALLY and like 20-30 rifles in a single year or 2 LEGALLY. you should not be able to amass that amount of firepower in such a short period and raise no red flags.

Yea but imagine a scenario where a group of people are planning a major attack. You get some guy with a clean record like this shooter had. He buys and supplies the guns and ammo for the group and they have all they need to do major damage. No red flags are raised and nothing is looked into. That shouldn't be. There should at least be some process when you hit a certain amount of weapon purchases within a short period where it is looked into and some basic questions are asked.Originally posted by lipripper View PostI agree with the bumpstocks..there is no real reason to have one(just my opinion). Good point and I really don't have a problem with that myself, just like I don't have a problem with background checks....Originally posted by Bouncer View PostYea but imagine a scenario where a group of people are planning a major attack. yet people feel their rights are violated for having to show ID to vote.. But them same people have ID to purchase alcohol and smokes... that don't violate there rights to have it for that purpose..
But the ACLU would..because now your trying to stop someone from exercising his rights.:D See that's where the whole two way street thing fucks things up.
Funny example just seen it on the news... BLM is protesting the ACLU because the ACLU was on the side of the KKK for trying to get a marching permit or some shit....But BLM uses the ACLU when they felt their rights were violated...LOL fucking double edged sword bro.
