Not just the resorts and beaches are beautiful,but the town's as well.. Just like Puerto rico, they all dumps...but with DR and Jaimacan being poor countries good luck leaving the resorts or you better have a guide cause they will rob you.

we were on a tour bus going from the resort to Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. a small pickup truck rear ended the bus. our driver got out and paid them to just be on their way even though it was their fault. lol

rip if you want to go to an island that you will be able to leave the resort and feel safe and see beautiful things i would recommend Bermuda (my personal favorite), the Cayman Islands, or any of the US Virgin Islands, or British Virgin Islands. Tortola was one of my favorites. Of course those places are more expensive.

Just want you to realize that both Jamaica and the Dominican Republic will disappoint you in terms of the islands themselves. Driving from the airport to the resort you will feel like you are in fucken Ethiopia. Absolute poverty. Then you get to the resort and you will feel like you are in heaven. It's an odd feeling. You almost feel guilty for being in such a nice resort knowing your are surrounded by insane poverty.

you might be right, not arguing that at all, it was way cheaper though, hell we got a free flight too..:D just gonna chill soak up the sun and do something every other day,, fishing trip, tour etc. break it up.

haha LOL. Both are outstanding.

On another note, I'm the type of person who goes to these places and never leaves my resort. Just pool, food, drinks, books and beach and I'm set.
