Semi-Auto guns only is what we are discussing. So those numbers aren't quite as large. Also what I'm talking about will happen over decades because the younger generation will vote for it, you know what else they will vote for? Tax increases to pay for it.

Our military budget per year costs way more than it would take to buy back all the semi-auto guns.

I think it's inevitable that this will eventually happen in our lifetime.

The younger generation will vote for this and support it. You don't have to get every single semi-auto off the street like redback mentioned. You get 50% or even 75% over the course of a few decades and it will be considered a success.

Red, I'm not sure if you read my initial post about this, but in no way, shape, or form would I support this. I'm a gun owner and pro-gun. I'm just generating discussion on what I think will happen in our lifetime, not what I want to happen.

Here are my thoughts:

1. The younger generation did not turn out to vote this time around. Most of them were hard-core Bernie Sanders and hated Hillary due to the primaries. This divided the democratic party and many of them either did not vote at all or voted for Trump or Jill Stein out of spite against Hillary.

2. The Russians pushed this pro-Bernie agenda because they knew it would fracture the dems vote. ^ With that being said, Trump STILL LOST the popular vote by over 3 million votes. Imagine if they had been aligned/united. Obama won both of his by like 10-12 million votes. (Even Romney and John McCain got more total votes than Trump in their losses).

3. Trump is a wake-up call. He's been so awful that he's mobilized the younger generation, just look at reddit they are rabid. The fact that Roy Moore lost in ALABAMA of all places to a weak dem candidate and some lady who is a Transexual won in a primarily red area tells you all you need to know.

4. I think the Blue Wave for the 2018 midterms is real. We will know within a year how mobilized this group is. I fully believe that Trump has single handily destroyed the republican party and we may never see another republican president again for a very long time, unless they come back to center. It's even looking like Ted Cruz might lose Texas to a Dem this year which would be nuts.

i agree for the most part but lets not forget that "silent majority" that showed up out of nowhere. they don't make much noise protesting or on social media but they sure turn out and vote when its time. they are still a wild card. because as strong as the anti trump movement has grown the opposite side of the spectrum (pro trump white middle america) might have grown right along with it. the trump base is really unpredictable.
