Nah your remembering wrong. Most 90's shit is lame as fuck when you rewatch it. Movie and shoes today are actually much much better. We just watch from home now, movie theaters are shit.

Even the rock movie like chuck said is lame. Aside from the General Hummel moments it's garbage.
