It's the NRA and their bitches in Congress that refuse to even discuss this issue. Universal background checks, funding the CDC on gun violence, no guns for the mentally ill, all of these ideas died in congress because of the gun lobby. None of these things affect the 2A. The ball in is your court (yes, you NRA member).

Keiser and Scrum I have a basic question i want you to answer honestly.
if gun owners agree to turn over all their "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines what happens when the next school shooting takes place? do you guys honestly believe the gun grabbers wont be back for more? do you think they will say "well the gun owners of america were pretty fair last time so we wont ask to take anything else from them"?
guys be honest with yourself. this is a long term game of slowly killing the second amendment by a thousand paper cuts.

yes because i am the person that harmed those children. the NRA are the people that harmed those children.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostThe ball in is your court (yes, you NRA member).
it's not the actual shooter, he's not responsible. it's not the failure of law enforcement. no it's me. :retard:

I don't buy the thousand paper cuts argument. The 1st A has restrictions and the courts have been able to draw a distinction between what's acceptable and not acceptable and not allow some kind of slippery slide into an autocracy where free speech is abolished.

i'm not against many of the things in that poll. but it's flawed. civilians don't have "assault weapons". assault weapons aka automatic weapons have been banned for a very long time. so i guess you want to ban them twice over? lol. all that poll shows is that 60% of Americans have no clue what an assault weapon is.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostBy the way, this is not a left vs. right issue. Look at this FOX news poll. The support for these things I mention is OVERWHELMING.

after the next school shooting they will point there fingers again and again at gun owners asking for more and more in the name of "common sense".. they will do that over and over until the 2nd lives on in name only.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostI don't buy the thousand paper cuts argument. "common sense" to gun grabbers means trying to take away the rights of law abiding citizens who had nothing to do with it..

i agree with those things for the most part. though i have issues with the 21 thing. 18 is too young to do many things but the government will gladly give an 18 year old an actual assault weapon complete with a grenade launcher and ask him to go put his life on the line for his country. i say raise the eligible age to enter the military to 21. but the government would never do that now would they..Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostHow about the other 4 items on the list?

He may have been appointed by Ford but he was NEVER a conservative.Originally posted by Scrumhalf View PostI haven't heard a single serious current public figure advocating for a repeal of the 2A. the only person I have even heard it from is John Paul Stevens, the retired Supreme Court justice, who incidentally is a conservative appointed by Ford.
Think what you want but just hearing someone as powerful as a Supreme Court Justice (retired) whisper the word repeal sends a chill down the spine of millions of gun owners and will cause them to fight even harder because it really does look like the left is tipping their hand. We have suspected it for years. JPS just insured millions of new NRA members I guarantee, even though it is virtually impossible to repeal ANY of the first 10 amendments. The Founders considered these inalienable rights given by god; not government. That is why they are called the Bill of Rights.

Weapons are classified as Assault weapons by how they LOOK; not how powerful they are or how fast they shoot. Doesn't that strike you as a tad ridiculous Scrum? It looks scary so it must be more deadly? In fact, "assault weapons" are less powerful then most hunting rifles. Assault weapons, designed for the battlefield, utilize smaller, less powerful ammunition so the soldier can carry more rounds and it has been shown that the great majority of battlefield situations take place at 300 meters or closer so they don't need more power or accuracy then that.
A regular old hunting rifle chambered in anything from .243 to 30-06 or even larger will do much more damage and go through more walls then an AR. Many semi-auto hunting rifles are available too. Shit, .223 isn't even a decent deer hunting cartridge without some specially designed projectiles (frangibles).
Just put a pistol grip and a flash hider on it and it becomes a scary "assault rifle". You don't even have to change the caliber, rate of fire, or anything. It's labeled a assault rifle by how many of these features it possesses: Pistol grip, flash hider, detachable magazine, collapsible stock. There might be a few more I am missing but all of these are just aesthetic features. They don't affect the killing power of the weapon.

The 1st canncont be stopped..Free speech newspapers..Internet smartphones protest any and every form of speech is supposed to be free....But apponents of the 2nd love to argued the fact...It was written with the intent of people n muskets...They didn't have scary black modern firearms then.....Gee...They barely had a printing press...But...I guess that's different....Fucking hyprocital assholes. Many would love nothing more then to destroy the 2nd. To not believe that is nieve.take the blinders off the hatred for NRA...Just be REAL about it.

To be fair the 1st has restrictions. Hate speech, racist speech, threats and shit like that generally aren't tolerated and often punishible by law.Originally posted by lipripper View PostIsn't it funny how according to so many people. But firearms also have restrictions. People just want to keep piling on new ones after every tragedy. That's my issue. You don't see more and more restrictions on the 1st when someone dies because of online bullying etc..

Cdc funding for gun violence was in the spending bill they just passed and Trump signed. It's a non argument.
Kaiser the words you typed we're interpreted by me to have a different meaning than you tried to convey. You're the dipshit for not being clearer. Asking what's on the table sounds to me like you want to know what can be taken away from me and what can't. My response to that was nothing can be taken from me. If you want led to know what people are asking for and what politicians are discussing then you needed to be more clear about that.
