A gun is a tool and is used for many things..you only look at only from the perspective of what criminals use them for not law abiding citizens. What do you think would happen to the deer population if they were not hunted? They also destroy farm crops and even worse cause tons of vehicle accidents every year. They would be a huge nuisance if they were not thinned out each year.

And they just stand there and wait for the bullet? lol Their sense of smell and sight is incredible. Even with a rife they can be very challenging to hunt. I only hunt in archery season anymore which is even harder.

And like Lip said, it's something you do with your family. I have great memories of going to the cabin with my dad and grandpa to go hunting and target shooting. My daughter likes to sit in my tree stand with me during archery. She makes way too much noise for me to ever see anything lol but we get to spend time together. These are things I hope to do with my son also when he old enough. I hope to pass down these traditions to my kids and family.

But they kill those animals differently Lip. They get read bedtime stories at night time. Massages during the day. The spend most of their lives playing with their family and running in open fields. Then they die peacefully in their sleep.
